Fiber Optic Modems Overview

American Data Supply carries a complete line of fiber optic modems include Asynchronous, Synchronous, T1/E1 and T3/E3 Fiber Optic Modems. Our fiber optic modems provide efficient, affordable solutions to a variety of network connectivity problems.Fiber Optic Modems are available in both multimode and single mode. Configurations include point-to-point, multi-drop, ring, self-healing ring and bus. Data rates vary from 300 bps to 2.5Mbps. Bit error rates are 1 in 10-10 or better.All popular electrical interfaces are supported including RS-232, RS-422, RS-366, RS-485, RS-530, TTL, T1, E1, T3, E3 and V.35. DB-25 (female) and detachable terminal block connectors are standard. Model TC1630R T1/E1, TC1680 T3/E3 and TC1710 High Speed modems are available either rackmount, wallmount or standalone.

The TC1900 is often used to extend telephone service in campus networks, power plants, substations, etc or use an existing service data channel to set up a telephone link. It is also used to set up "Hot Links" telephone service via existing RS-232 links on satellite, fiber optic or microwave networks. Standard fiber optic connectors are ST; FC is optional. Power is 9-12VDC, 24VDC, -48VDC or 115/230VAC with an external power cube.
