The Ethernet over VDSL Extended Distance (EoV-ED) solution enables carriers to offer DSL services over long-distance graded telephony copper lines.The solution is implemented into the OptiSwitch® family and can be integrated together with standard EoV and other OptiSwitch® products in a Central Offi ce system. The Extended Distance Ethernet over Very high bit rate Digital Subscriber Line (EoV-ED) technology is what enables the extension of the typical EoV range beyond the traditional 1500 m over standard telephone cables. The EoV-ED product line delivers standard Ethernet traffi c over VDSL transport, which reaches the distance of up to 4000 m, in parallel to the POTS service.
