Plenum Innerduct Carries CXR-AJ (anderson Jacobsen) DSL Modems and SDSL Modems, including the entire MD 2000 series which consists of models of a multi-rate 2.3Mbps or 4.6Mbps full duplex high speed DSL modems operating over single twisted pair copper wire. Built around the DSL technology called MSDSL, the MD2000 series maximizes transmission performance while providing easy provisioning through an automatic rate/distance adjustment mechanism.

The MD 2000 series is a range of models of a multi-rate 2.3Mbps or 4.6Mbps full duplex high speed DSL modems operating over single twisted pair copper wire. Built around the DSL technology called MSDSL, the MD2000 series maximizes transmission performance while providing easy provisioning through an automatic rate/distance adjustment mechanism.

The units are designed for applications that require high-speed transport in the form of LAN bridging and extension and T1/E1 voice or data services. They can also be used for the transport of ISDN BRI/PRI or full and fractional T1/E1 data services. The MD 2000 operates over private copper wire infrastructures, which exist extensively on university and school campuses, hospitals, military bases, power plants, communities and industrial complexes for networking purposes.

The MD2000 greatly reduces the cost, complexity and time required to provision E1/FE1 or T1/FT1 circuits. At T1 or E1 speeds the MD2000 can symmetrically transmit data over a distance of up to 3.6 miles (5.8Km) on 24AWG copper pair (0.5mm). The MD2000 is available as a desktop unit or as a rack-mountable card to be used inside the CXR Universal (managed) Chassis where it can be co-located with other members of the AJ transmission products family (analog modems, ISDN digital modems, ISDN terminal adapters etc.).

The MD20BT (Ethernet 10Base-T) and its companion the MD2HUB (8-port Ethernet hub), are two new additions to the existing AJ DSL product family. These new models use the DSL multi-rate technology aimed at the LAN extension and interconnection market using a single copper pair. These models allow the transmission of inter-LAN traffic at a maximum speed of 4.6Mbps, twice the speed of comparable products. At this speed the maximum distance is 2.2 miles (3.5Km) when using a 24 gauge single copper pair. When operated at a lower speed the distance reach can be as much as 6.2 miles (10Km).

These two products combine the functionality of a DSL modem and a powerful filtering bridge making the use of external hubs, bridges and the associated cables unnecessary. When you do not want to invest in optical fiber, using existing copper pairs is an economical and efficient solution.
